In Her Element

This was created for both account's combined "Element" contest as well. I wish to thank both artists for their wonderful work, and giving me the inspiration for this piece. For rules and information if you wish to enter go here: [link]

Afterwork: Well, I softened all her skin tones, which turned out wonderful. I sharpened her eyes, her lips. Then I grayscaled it, and added a sunrise shot of my own. I toned down the opacity, and just brushed it in over her skin. Then I quadtoned it with the colors of the sunrise image. Voila`!

Now, as some of my long time watchers will remember I love the element of water, but I have a water themed photomanip, so I decided on Air. The sunrise image was perfect for in most pagan religions Air is symbolized by the color yellow. Plus the little symbol beside her name translates thusly: Two identical horizontal and parallel lines together is the well-known mathematical equals sign meaning is the same as. The uniting and linking quality of 1003 is, so to speak, doubled, signifying a similarity in one dimension, that of quantity. The ideogram has a similar meaning in some other systems, such as geometry.

In astrology 1006 is used for the element of air. This astrological element, to which belong the zodiac signs of Libra, Gemini, and Aquarius, is not identical with the alchemical air element, nor is it graphically symbolized in the same way. Persons strongly influenced by one of the air signs tend to use their intellect, or their personal system of ideas, as their primary means of recognizing and ordering their environment. In astrology, the opposite of the air element is not the earth element, as in alchemy, but the water element, that influences the individual to experience his or her surroundings primarily through emotions and feelings.

In the British system of hobo signs 1006 means here they give you a place to sleep for the night. In meteorology it can mean thin mist.
