Afterwork: Resized, bordered, sharpened, blue hues tweaked.

So, it's been raining. ALOT. I posted some flood shots over on the stock account, but I wanted to add a few of these here. I went back to the falls of course, tons of water how could I not? So. This is Cataract Falls again, about an hour or so from my home, right next door to Lieber State Park.

Near the village of Cataract in northern Owen County, Mill Creek, a sluggish stream draining about 250 square miles, suddenly makes two plunges totaling more than 80 feet in two waterfalls and the cascades that precede them. The upper falls has a sheer plunge of 20 feet; the lower falls - about a half a mile downstream - has a fall of some 18 feet. The double falls, upstream a short distance from Cataract Lake, are without equal in size elsewhere in Indiana. Cataract Falls appear to have resulted from two preglacial bedrock ridges buried beneath ancient lake sediments of the Illinoian glacial period and later encountered by the downcutting of postglacial Mill Creek.

BTW: there wasn't any ice this time as you saw in these two pictures "Cracked and Exposed Revisited" "Little Ice Age" which is a shame, it's been warm enough that and flood waters that might have frozen were just flowing instead.

It's a beautiful area. You can even walk 'up' the falls, and get in behind them. Though with as fast as the water was racing. I wasn't going to try it that day.

Water. Falls especially just engender a feeling of power, at least to me. Thank you :)
